Annual Meeting
The Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of the art and science of radiology by the promotion of medical education, research and patient care, the development of methods of undergraduate and graduate teaching in radiology and the provision of a forum for discussion of problems and mutual interest among radiology department chairpersons.

2018 Visionary Leadership Award

The Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments is now accepting nominations for the SCARD Visionary Leadership Award.  This award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the field of academic radiology by exhibiting extraordinary leadership abilities.   

If you would like to nominate a candidate for this award, please submit a letter of recommendation to by Friday, November 17th. Additional information and a list of past award recipients are posted here on the SCARD web site.

November 8 Marks Sixth Annual International Day of Radiology

SCARD joins more than 140 radiology-related professional societies taking part in the sixth annual International Day of Radiology (IDoR) on Wednesday, November 8. The theme of this year’s IDoR is emergency radiology and the essential role that radiologists play in the emergency room, increasing the quality of care and treatment of patients.
